These diabetic foods release blood sugar when they break down in our blood stream. But there are no proven clinical reports available on them.
One must be cautious of so-called diabetic ice cream, candies etc., because many of these contain additional calories. To prepare such diabetic foods they use a sweetener, from fructose and sugar alcohols, which is capable of raising the blood sugars count and can have a adverse effects.
Diabetic foods in the long run does not benefit to patients with diabetes. Diabetic people should depend more on fresh vegetables and fruits, natural herbs and spices make your food taste good. They must also buy whole grain breads and avoid sugar free products. Diabetic people can also take skimmed milk and other no fat dairy products. For non vegetarians they must incline themselves on fat free meat, poultry and fish.
