Low carb diets mainly have high protein and low carbohydrate. Our normal diet has a lot of carb intake and thus by lowering this we tend to lose weight.

When carbs, the immediate source of energy is not available the stored energy in out body as fat is used up. Low carb diets comprise of moderate amounts of fat free meat, poultry, seafood, eggs, fresh fruits and vegetables. Processed foods and carb rich food like potatoes, rice, corn are not a part of this diet.
There are many low carb diet plans from which you could choose one based on the routine you keep and as per your convenience.

The most popular low carb diet is the Atkins diet. There are more low carb diet plans which you can adapt to. The Atkins diet program is a series of diet plans that you can implement one by one and attain positive weight loss result.

The carbohydrate intake is initially restricted to 20 grams only in a week and is increased 5gms each week. Low carb diets can help in reducing your weight and when you start normal carb intake you may gain it back.

There fore it is important that you do regular exercise and calorie watching even after you have attained your desired body weight.

Most low carb diet plans cut carbohydrate intake and replace it with fruits, vegetables, fiber, fats and proteins. A variety of low carb recipes are available on the Internet but the best one would be which even tells you how to maintain the lost weight for long term.
