Weight Loss by Glucomannan
By Total Diet • Category: Weight LossRecently we heard of Glucomannan, which is a soluble fiber and is derived from the konjac plant. Various research studies suggest that Glucomannan can be an effective agent in weight loss.
One study demonstrated that 2 to 4 grams per day of Glucomannan resulted in significant weight loss.
A recent study by the University of Connecticut, Storrs (zoocon) showed that the addition of exercise to a diet regimen including Glucomannan significantly improved body fat composition and HDL-C, and TC/HDL-C ratio.
In a study comparing Glucomannan to other fibers such as guar gum and alginate for weight loss, only glucomannan appeared to cause weight loss.
