Yoga suddenly seems to be the answer to all your health problems and for good reason all that fuss around it is not just that. Yoga might have only started to create buzz now but it actually began more than 3,000 years ago in India. Yoga is a Sanskrit word which means “to unite” and more specifically the unity of mind and body.

Yoga is a perfect tool for anyone who wants to feel and look good and it means that anyone who desires for complete health can or in fact should so Yoga. Yoga has got everything for each of us and we all can make significant changes in our lives if we do Yoga.

We at Total Diet felt that we can not write about Health without mentioning this age old practice of self healing. So we have decided to put more focus on Yoga this time around.

We will start with The Bow Pose which is called Dhanura-asana in Sanskrit.

The Dhanura-asana is beneficial for your digestive system. Following are the instructions to do it.

  1. Lie down on your stomach with your face down.
  2. Bend your legs and grasp the ankles with your hands.
  3. Now inhale and raise the hind part of your body and then raise your chest too.
  4. Bend the neck backwards and keep your eyes closed .
  5. The entire body should rest just on your belly and arch the back into a bow shape.
  6. Hold the posture for as long as you can.
  7. Breathe normally and return to normal position.

This exercise has to be repeated twice in a day and it adds strength and flexibility to your spine.
