From a yogi point , proper breathing is to bring more oxygen to the blood and to the various organs which is vital for our survival. Breathing Exercise revitalizes the body, steadies the emotions and creates great clarity of mind. Before practicing the exercises, you should be sure that you understand how to breathe correctly and how to make full use of the diaphragm.

The process of kapalbhati is a yoga exercise for breathing. Practicing Breathing exercise on regular basis leads to shining face with inner radiance. Kapalbhati is highly energizing abdominal breathing exercise.This exercise used specifically for cleansing. If you have a lot of mucus in the air passages or feel tension and blockages in the chest it is often helpful to breathe quickly.
A cycle or rotation of Kapalbhati should be performed as follows :
- Sit in comfortable crossed leg position with back straight.
- Place both hands on the knees in concentration, eyes gently closed and face should be relaxed.
- Inhale deeply through both nostrils, expanding abdomen and exhale with the forceful contraction of abdominal muscles.
- After exhalation again inhalation should not involve any effort.
- To inhale just relax and the lungs will automatically expand and filled with air.
- Repeat this 40 to 50 times till you are tired.
- Keep your body still during the exercise.
- Breathe out completely and relax.
- Increases the process gradually 80 to 100 times.

Healthy person can practice it 10 to 15 minutes regularly. The people who suffer from the problem of obesity fallopian tube blockage, hepatitis etc should practice it 20 minutes to half hour twice daily. It should be practiced either empty stomach or 2 to 3 hour after take a meal .
