Bariatric surgery or what is popularly called weight loss surgery is a last chance that doctors take in order to treat extreme cases of obesity. Two common types of bariatric surgery are the gastrointestinal and they are specially crafted for different causes.
One type of the bariatric weight loss surgeries is restrictive in nature. It comprises of the popular procedure called stomach stapling. This procedure restricts the quantity of food that one used to eat.
In this weight loss surgery a small pouch is created at the top of the stomach that holds about small amount of food, with a small cut at its bottom which holds food in the pouch and this arrangement causes no hunger feeling.
Another type of such restrictive weight loss surgery include lap banding, here the pouch is created by wrapping around a silicon band on the stomach. This procedure doesn’t require cut like in the above type and thus it is less risky and has become popular.
