The British Heart Foundation Diet is another type of diet that allows dieters to lose about 10 pounds in just a matter of three days, given that they follow the suggested diet’s precise meal plot. This diet was not made nor supported by the British Heart Foundation. As to where this diet originated is still unclear until now. It may be called the British Hear Foundation diet but it does not have any connection with the foundation at all. The foundation made it clear that they do not have anything to do with this type of diet and do not even endorse this type of diet to the public. There is a fantastic possibility that this type of diet may have had originated from and even developed in Britain basically for the reference of being named after the British Heart Foundation. Other than that, most versions of this type of diet are often referred to as “beetroot”, a British term to what Americans refer to as beets.

The British Heart Foundation diet is a three-day diet that claims to help lose 10 pounds in just three days, but a dieter must be able to follow the specific meal that is strictly recommended by this diet. A dieter is provided a specific meal plot; three meals a day for three days. The amount of food intake is specified in ounces. For a dieter to be able to follow everything properly and effectively, it is best to use a kitchen and the likes to be able to weigh food accurately.

The diet requires five eight-ounce glass of water per day or black tea or coffee, whichever is specified in each meal plot. A dieter must follow the provided meal plot to be able to achieve desired and effective results. Below is the meal plot that is provided for the British Heart Foundation diet that should be followed religiously.

Day One

Breakfast

  • One can drink black coffee or tea
  • ½ of a grapefruit
  • 2 teaspoons of peanut butter
  • One slice of dry toast

Lunch

  • One can drink black coffee or tea
  • On slice of dry toast
  • 4 ounces of tuna

Dinner

  • One can only drink water
  • 2 slices of any cold meat
  • 4 ounces of beets
  • 1 small apple
  • 4 ounces of vanilla ice cream
  • 1 cup of string beans

Day Two

Breakfast

  • One can drink black coffee or tea
  • 1 slice of dry toast
  • ½ of a banana
  • 1 egg 9boiled or poached)

Lunch

  • 5 crackers (cracker brand varies, it could either beRitz, Tuc, Snax or Saltine)
  • 4 ounces of cottage cheese

Dinner

  • 2 ounces of carrots
  • ½ of a banana
  • 3 ounces of broccoli
  • 2 hotdogs (some versions of this diet use frankfurters)
  • 4 ounces of vanilla ice cream

Day Three

Breakfast

  • One can drink black coffee or tea
  • 1 slice of cheddar cheese
  • 1 small apple
  • 5 crackers

Lunch

  • One can only drink water
  • 1 slice of dry toast
  • 1 hard-boiled egg

Dinner

  • 4 ounces of beets
  • 4 ounces of tuna
  • 4 ounces of cauliflower
  • 4 ounces of vanilla ice cream
  • ½ of a melon
