I. The calorie-controlled diet

A calorie controlled diet is a kind of diet where one is required to take note of own calorie consumption to stay within a targeted number of caloric intake every day. It is said that calorie- controlled diets can help one attain an optimal health and eventually lose weight in a way where one may be satisfied without depriving owns cravings in eating. But, even though this may be right for some, but dieticians believe that having one’s own individual diet plot depending on one’s condition is still the best.

II. How it Works

Knowing one’s caloric intake is a must should one wanted to lose weight. But, according to studies, people seem to underestimate their daily caloric consumption between 500 and 1000 calories. In order for one to have a concrete value, one may have a week’s eating plot. At the end of every day, one should take note of owns caloric content. To be guided, there are available charts that show different food groups and their corresponding amount of calories per serving. At the end of the week, one then adds overall calorie consumption then divides it by seven. This will then be one’s average caloric consumption per day.  Using this technique, one may easily control caloric intake by knowing what food types may still be eaten.

A calorie- controlled diet also includes different kind of foods from the main food groups. One’s calorie needs depends on one’s condition. With this, a dietician may suggest the right amount of food per food group. For some, alcohol intake may be possible but one should take it minimally or even once per day.

III. Its Advantage

Controlling calories does not mean deprivation from foods that one usually eats. It is simply taking full control of one’s caloric consumption in foods to avoid overeating.

In addition, calorie control is also associated with low stout diet. This means that this type of diet may be a helpful guide in achieving that long term weight loss plot. Moreover, this may also give one a better eating habits and to go for more nutritious foods. With this, one may develop a better lifestyle and eventually a better health.

IV. What Now?

Calorie- controlled diet can be very effective depending on one’s commitment to do the diet itself. This diet offers an opportunity to dieters to reduce calorie intake and not to reduce certain nutrient. Also, one should check food marks to ensure the right amount of calories it gives.

If your goal is to lose weight, researchers have found that reducing your caloric intake is the key to success, not reducing a particular nutrient (like carbs).
